Hi my name is Oscar, I am a sweet but timid, loyal handsome man with a big happy face I always look like i'm smiling, I can take a little while to come out of my shell and warm up to new people but a little bacon treat and a bum scratch you will have me wagging my tail and dancing around in no time. Having been rescued from a situation where I had only ever known my home, siblings and puppy family I can be scared in new situations and when meeting new dogs. I am frightened until i know i can trust my humans & not suitable to be around kids. I am looking for a forever family where I can be their number one, I bond better with ladies so am hoping to find a loving patient mum who will just love me no matter what! I have a few issues from my upbringing but I’m a great dog. Inside the home I am cruisey most of the time I have a few quirks but hey who doesn’t, I will let you know when I need to go out to the loo and need mums supervision if visitors come over. I love to laze in front of the fire on a cold day then chase my foster sister around and then back to couch to cuddle up, Outside the home I need a bit of help working on my fear & issues around other dogs or cats we might see on a walk, my new mum just needs to be weary of my reaction to things when out and about & help me with my fear and training. I am suited to an older person or couple with no children, no cats and potentially no other dogs, someone who has a quiet home hopefully in a country area on acreage where its quiet & I can snooze on the couch by the fire. My favorite things to do are to spend time with my human and to nap on the couch!! I love my spot on the couch with my blanket! I do like to go for a walk I am very good on a lead and so loyal i will walk right next to you. I can even chase the ball or stick but sometimes forget i am meant to give it back to you. I have a big burst of energy and run around to let off steam then it's time to come back to my humans and of course go for a nap! I love to jump on the bed and sleep with you right up close to you near your pillow I know not everyone likes that! I am very smart and a fast learner when i trust you, so I can sleep in a bed next to your bed if you would prefer, I respond very well to treats so using food motivates me to learn. My perfect family must have big hearts be patient with me, show me the love and kindness I so deserve but most of all be committed to me and my future. Historically I’m not great with other dogs, I have met many dogs and with slow introductions I have demonstrated that in time i could live with another dog. In my current foster home I have bonded with my foster sister Coco who is also available for adoption. I would just be so happy to be rehomed with her but if you only want one dog I think I would be happy being the center of my human’s world and get all of the attention please!! I’ve been in care for 3 years now, so far I haven’t found the right family who can commit to me, My next family will be forever. Do i sound like your forever friend?
