Betty came to Forever Friends Animal Rescue in desperate need of lots of love, reassurance and cuddles. She is a super affectionate, clever young dog who loves nothing better than to sit by you with her head in your lap. Whilst Betty loves nothing more than being with her human family, she’s also content being outside while you work. Betty gets on very well with her foster sister (Bernese Mountain Dog and previously dachshunds) and is super friendly with teenage kids. We would like to see Betty go to a family with an existing dog to show her the ropes and help build her confidence in new environments. At home, Betty is confident and calm when meeting people for the first time. She rarely barks. She is also confident around noisy appliances. Betty is learning about walking on the lead and is learning not to pull or bark at other dogs, and will require ongoing training in this area. She can become anxious in new surroundings, particularly when going for walks. She hasn’t been tested with younger children or toddlers, nor has she been tested with cats. Betty requires a new home where her training will be continued and where she can grow in confidence when outside the house. Her foster family are very proud of her transformation. Ongoing training, reassurance and understanding from her forever family will ensure that Betty will become the amazing dog she was always meant to be.
