Adoption Process

Thank you for submitting an Expression of Interest (EOI) form for this rescue pet! The pet’s Case Manager and Foster Carer will review your EOI and then respond to you as soon as possible. If it sounds like you and the foster pet are a good match, we will arrange a no-obligation meet and greet for you. At this meeting you get the opportunity to spend some time with the animal, then we ask you to take some time to think about it afterwards and let the Case Manager know your feelings the next day. If you want to go ahead with an adoption, and FFAR think that you would make a good match, we offer a four-week trial, and the services of our behaviourist at no cost to you during that time, should you have any issues. If the adoption doesn't work out for any reason, we will take your rescue pet back for a full refund within those four weeks; we will also take your adopted animal back at any point during their lifetime lifetime should you become unable to care for them. A bit like a no-risk guarantee! We want each adoption to go swimmingly for both the adopter and animal and never want these special four-leggeds to be homeless again.

Sheba is a lovely, affectionate friendly girl who has travelled all the way from far north Queensland to find her forever home. Sheba is great with other dogs, extremely clever and loves her humans. Known for climbing into laps and loves nothing more than being around her humans and dogs. She learns quickly and needs her training to be maintained, she came with very few manners - well none - but she is learning quickly and very responsive, she learnt the dog door in 2 seconds flat! She is fully house trained, will walk on lead with another dog present. She knows basic commands but needs them reinforced - positively so she remembers them. As with most dogs she needs to be introduced to new things - Sheba has lived remotely most of her life, her zest, enthusiasm and curiosity make it really easy to get her to meet new things. Sheba would do well with another dog, she does jump up so not really suitable for little children. We think she would suit a family who has a large yard so she can run and do her zoomies.
