Adoption Process

Thank you for submitting an Expression of Interest (EOI) form for this rescue pet! The pet’s Case Manager and Foster Carer will review your EOI and then respond to you as soon as possible. If it sounds like you and the foster pet are a good match, we will arrange a no-obligation meet and greet for you. At this meeting you get the opportunity to spend some time with the animal, then we ask you to take some time to think about it afterwards and let the Case Manager know your feelings the next day. If you want to go ahead with an adoption, and FFAR think that you would make a good match, we offer a four-week trial, and the services of our behaviourist at no cost to you during that time, should you have any issues. If the adoption doesn't work out for any reason, we will take your rescue pet back for a full refund within those four weeks; we will also take your adopted animal back at any point during their lifetime lifetime should you become unable to care for them. A bit like a no-risk guarantee! We want each adoption to go swimmingly for both the adopter and animal and never want these special four-leggeds to be homeless again.

I am a 4 year old German Shepherd x Aussie cattle dog. I love people and I want to be wherever you are. I’d like you be around more often than not. I am dog friendly, but I can be a bit anxious at first, so slow introductions are best. I have been living with a foster sister and I like sharing/swapping toys with her. I have a foster brother as well but I&#039;m not so keen on boys, so if I have a fur sibling I&#039;d prefer a sister. I am child friendly – I grew up around children ages 2 to 14 I do get excited when people visit so will need to be reminded not to jump on them. I am a strong boy and tend to pull on the lead when walking so will need someone willing to help me with that too. I have a thick coat and would love a good brush with an undercoat/ shedding rake when it gets warmer. I don&#039;t mind this being done at all, it&#039;s just like lots of pats. I would rather not live with cats or other small animals. They probably won’t like the way I play. I am told I am very intelligent and as I love food rewards I am easy to train. I am house-trained and have had dog training. I can sit, come, go to bed, go out, roll and stay but I could learn lots more if you teach me. All in all I&#039;d love a loving active family with loads of space that includes me in everything they do inside and outside
