Adoption Process

Thank you for submitting an Expression of Interest (EOI) form for this rescue pet! The pet’s Case Manager and Foster Carer will review your EOI and then respond to you as soon as possible. If it sounds like you and the foster pet are a good match, we will arrange a no-obligation meet and greet for you. At this meeting you get the opportunity to spend some time with the animal, then we ask you to take some time to think about it afterwards and let the Case Manager know your feelings the next day. If you want to go ahead with an adoption, and FFAR think that you would make a good match, we offer a four-week trial, and the services of our behaviourist at no cost to you during that time, should you have any issues. If the adoption doesn't work out for any reason, we will take your rescue pet back for a full refund within those four weeks; we will also take your adopted animal back at any point during their lifetime lifetime should you become unable to care for them. A bit like a no-risk guarantee! We want each adoption to go swimmingly for both the adopter and animal and never want these special four-leggeds to be homeless again.

Diesel is such a passionate boy, he loves to give you headbutts and roll over on your feet. He will be your best friend in no time! He loves his human unconditionally. He will run to greet you when you return home, tail high and ready for pats, cuddles and brushing! At two years old he is still as playful as a kitten. He loves to chase a ball and chirp at the birds through the window. He does have a tendency to get over excited and give love chomps – there is no aggression in it, but he is such a big boy that you will certainly feel it, so a home without little kids is probably best, and even better if you are cat experienced and can help redirect his play into appropriate toys if he gets too rough. Being a white boy with pale nose and ears Diesel needs to be an indoors only cat to protect him from developing skin cancer. Diesel is an extremely affectionate boy looking for a home with an existing cat friendly cat or dog for company. With a good introduction process he will be a beautiful part of the family. Diesel has joined the team at Mitcham Petstock and you can meet him in store during business hours.
