Adoption Process

Thank you for submitting an Expression of Interest (EOI) form for this rescue pet! The pet’s Case Manager and Foster Carer will review your EOI and then respond to you as soon as possible. If it sounds like you and the foster pet are a good match, we will arrange a no-obligation meet and greet for you. At this meeting you get the opportunity to spend some time with the animal, then we ask you to take some time to think about it afterwards and let the Case Manager know your feelings the next day. If you want to go ahead with an adoption, and FFAR think that you would make a good match, we offer a four-week trial, and the services of our behaviourist at no cost to you during that time, should you have any issues. If the adoption doesn't work out for any reason, we will take your rescue pet back for a full refund within those four weeks; we will also take your adopted animal back at any point during their lifetime lifetime should you become unable to care for them. A bit like a no-risk guarantee! We want each adoption to go swimmingly for both the adopter and animal and never want these special four-leggeds to be homeless again.

Jacky is a beautiful Wolfhound who loves nothing more than chasing balls, playing tug of war, and finishing off the day with a cuddle from her favourite humans. She would make a wonderful companion, and love a family who will include her on all their adventures, and who are looking for a dog they can make part of their lifestyle. Jacky is a smart girl and knows how to go to her bed, sit and lie down, and would love to continue training and add to her repertoire. She walks well on a sporn harness, and is an obedient girl. At night she is very well behaved and will politely wait in her bed or chill out on the sofa with you while you binge watch Netflix. She is kid friendly, and currently living in foster care with children who adore her. After having a rough time in the pound, and being quite timid, we were thrilled with how far Jacky has come with her socialisation. She is an adaptable girl, and is currently living with another dog and thriving. She would do well as an only dog, or living with another dog medium size or larger. She is not suited to living with cats. Her adoption fee includes desexing, microchipping, deworm/flea and vaccinations.
