Adoption Process

Thank you for submitting an Expression of Interest (EOI) form for this rescue pet! The pet’s Case Manager and Foster Carer will review your EOI and then respond to you as soon as possible. If it sounds like you and the foster pet are a good match, we will arrange a no-obligation meet and greet for you. At this meeting you get the opportunity to spend some time with the animal, then we ask you to take some time to think about it afterwards and let the Case Manager know your feelings the next day. If you want to go ahead with an adoption, and FFAR think that you would make a good match, we offer a four-week trial, and the services of our behaviourist at no cost to you during that time, should you have any issues. If the adoption doesn't work out for any reason, we will take your rescue pet back for a full refund within those four weeks; we will also take your adopted animal back at any point during their lifetime lifetime should you become unable to care for them. A bit like a no-risk guarantee! We want each adoption to go swimmingly for both the adopter and animal and never want these special four-leggeds to be homeless again.

Introducing Lexi and Cole. Brothers and great mates. These gorgeous boys are looking for a home together, where they can play all day and be best friends forever. Lexi has a cute little white spot on his chest. He is small in stature but big in personality. Lexi is a confident and clever kitten, who at times can be very dog-like. He has endless amounts of energy and loves to play fetch with his favourite toy mouse. Once Lexi feels comfortable with you he will smother you with love and purr away loudly. His preferred sleeping spot is on your cheek after he has given it a good clean. The closer to you the better for this affectionate boy. Lexi also loves to be part of the action and will always be by your side. Cole is a handsome, sensitive boy with beautiful dark chocolate tones in his coat. He looks to his brother for comfort and Lexi brings out a more confident side in him. At the same time Cole keeps Lexi grounded and reminds him that down-time is necessary. Their diverse personalities compliment eachother. Being a sensitive boy, Cole is startled by loud, sudden noises and is known to hide away from strangers and unfamiliar objects. He simply needs time and patience to help him come out of his shell and learn to trust. Once Cole feels safe and secure, he will show his affectionate side and seek out your company. He loves nothing more than a good head and chin scratch. Both boys have been raised in a foster home with a young couple since they were rescued at 8 weeks old. They have enjoyed a quiet, indoor lifestyle with the company of four other cats and a foster mum who works part-time and has spent ample time with them. They have had no exposure to young children or any direct contact with dogs. Their ideal home would be one without young children but older teenage children would be fine. The barking dog next door sends them into hiding mode so they are best suited to a dog free home. They get along great with other cats.
