Adoption Process

Thank you for submitting an Expression of Interest (EOI) form for this rescue pet! The pet’s Case Manager and Foster Carer will review your EOI and then respond to you as soon as possible. If it sounds like you and the foster pet are a good match, we will arrange a no-obligation meet and greet for you. At this meeting you get the opportunity to spend some time with the animal, then we ask you to take some time to think about it afterwards and let the Case Manager know your feelings the next day. If you want to go ahead with an adoption, and FFAR think that you would make a good match, we offer a four-week trial, and the services of our behaviourist at no cost to you during that time, should you have any issues. If the adoption doesn't work out for any reason, we will take your rescue pet back for a full refund within those four weeks; we will also take your adopted animal back at any point during their lifetime lifetime should you become unable to care for them. A bit like a no-risk guarantee! We want each adoption to go swimmingly for both the adopter and animal and never want these special four-leggeds to be homeless again.

This beauty is Summer! Summer is a gentle, affectionate tabby girl who was rescued at just three months old. Very scared of people to start with, Summer has grown into an affectionate, loving companion. Now over a year old, Summer would love a quiet house to really come out of her shell. Summer was once terrified of every sound, now she’ll sit on the bed while you walk down the hall way, just checking you out! The bed is DEFINITELY Summer’s domain. Under the bed was her safe space for a long time (still is her safest spot!) and she has graduated to sleeping, cuddling and playing on the bed and she will definitely want sleep with you. Summer will wish you a great start to every day and a loving good night. She’s doesn't enjoy being picked up but thoroughly enjoys getting attention when she wants it! She’s likes to hang out on the couch with her carer and other cats in the evening. Summer does live well with other cats, but her temperament would be more suited to a single animal home as she learns her cues from her human counterparts. She’s untested on children, but we imagine that after she settles into her new home she will give everyone in the family an enormous amount of love.
